What is a peeling gel? A peeling gel is form of physical exfoliation that uses fruit enzymes to dissolve dead skin cells and unclog pores, which you can see as you massage it onto your skin.
It is extremely gentle and soothing, making it the perfect exfoliator for sensitive skin! Unfortunately, dead skin cells won’t go away after a good cleanse. Exfoliating your skin, however, will help get rid of all of that, allowing your products to sink in and absorb better! And hey, you spend money on your skincare, might as well make sure your skin is actually absorbing it, right?!
Basically, we need to exfoliate at least 1-2 times a week and can be added to 3-4 times a week depends on your preference and the reaction of your skin.
HOW DOES IT WORKS?
Basically, all peeling gel works the same – they contain ingredients that interact with any oil sitting on your skin, and clump them up with some friction. To be clear, you can imagine the clumps that develop when you massage your skin is like a bead in the your facial scrub but in a gentler form.
Peeling gels must be applied to clean, dry skin, otherwise, they do not work very well. Peeling gels should also have alpha hydroxy acid (glycolic, citric, lactic) as it helps in removing dead skin cells ~ lemons and papayas naturally contain alpha hydroxy acids.
Another common ingredient is hyaluronic acid, which will increase moisture and hydration and improve your skin texture and tone. Your peeling gel should form clumps of white or greyish balls when you massage it into your skin.
